Introducing the CGES PTA WhatsApp!

Do you want to be able to connect with other parents/caregivers in your child's grade? Communicate about class events?  Share news...?  

The PTA has been working hard to find a way to help make this happen..., and NOW YOU CAN! We are excited to introduce the CGESPTA WhatsApp! In just a few easy steps, you'll be able to chat with other parents.

Step 1: Download WhatsApp on your mobile device

Step 2: Click HERE

Step 3: Join the CGESPTA WhatsApp "Community"

Step 4: Request to join your Grade "Group" (ie Kindergarten, 1st Grade, etc...)

Step 5: Start chatting!

News & Upcoming Events

Family Paint Night!

When: Friday, February 24th at 6:30 pm

What: Calling all families....the PTA is hosting a Family Paint Night! Join us for a fun night of instructional painting by CGES's own, Mrs. Annie Kim. This event is for kids and adults of all artistic levels. No experience needed. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the CGES Art Program.  

Where: CGES Cafeteria 

Pre order your tickets today...ONLY A FEW SEATS LEFT!

The tickets are $15/person. We anticipate that this event will sell out quickly. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.

Luciana Villegas is our WINNER

DID YOU KNOW that we held a contest to determine the cover of this year's Yearbook? Our CGES 5th Grade students submitted artwork to be considered for the cover. Thank you to all the students who participated. We were so impressed with everyone's creativity. Congratulations, Luciana!

Sewing Club 

When: February 8th, 15th, 22nd, & March 1st - 3:45pm-4:45pm

What:  You Too Can Sew is an after school club that is available for NEW and INTERMEDIATE sewers.  

$100/student, all materials INCLUDED!

Spirit NIGHT! 

When: February 22nd from 5pm - 9pm

Where: Chipotle - 20940 Frederick Road, Germantown

Come and join us for our February SPIRIT NIGHT! Chipotle is generously donating 33% of proceeds back to the school. Don't forget to enter the code XXFVQ3A for online orders. Bring this flyer to the restaurant to ensure your order goes towards the Cedar Grove fundraiser.


Classroom Valentine's Day Parties!

When: Tuesday, February 14th, time TBD by teachers

What: CGES students will be celebrating Valentine's Day with individual classroom parties planned by either their teachers or room parents. If you are a lead room parent, please reach out to your classroom teacher to find out a specific time for the party.

Souper Bowl Food Drive

When: NOW - Monday, February 13th

What: Who will win the Super Bowl??! CGES will be collecting non-perishable food items over the next week and a half. Have you student place the food items in the box under the helmet of the team they think will win this year's Super Bowl. We will see who the favorite is at CGES!

March Book Madness

In March, we will have a bracket starting with 16 books and vote for the best book until we end up with a champion, much like the Basketball March Madness!  Books are recorded by a mystery reader and linked to a slide in the February Media Monthly, so students can begin "reading" them. The first ballot to eliminate titles will be available the first week in March. So, start reading now! 

Get Involved!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed!  Log in to your account and see the many opportunities to volunteer!
